Energy Independence
Energy issue shall be addressed with the utmost priority concern. We have an abundance of energy resources but there has been no political will to develop those as our ruling elite, by tradition, concentrated on selfish motives demanding huge kick-backs for awarding project contracts. Sadly, exploration work went on at a sickening slow pace reflecting neither zeal nor enthusiasm.
Only a few of the known coal reservoirs in Sind and Baluchistan are sufficient to bring about full independence in this field for a few centuries to come. Immediate steps will be taken in that direction. Coal shall soon become the main source of electricity production in the country. Exploration for petroleum and gas fields will be given a big boost and devoted professionals will be given full support in running these projects, rather than the corrupt bureaucracy.
